WHAT IS THERMIVA?
ThermiVa is effective, comfortable, non-surgical vaginal rejuvenation with no downtime. A warm radiofrequency wand passed over treated areas tightens and contracts your delicate soft tissues.
Known for labial and vaginal tightening, ThermiVa may also improve mild to moderate stress urinary incontinence, vulvo-vaginal atrophy (dryness), and orgasmic dysfunction due to laxity and dryness. Many women report improved sexual experience.
How does ThermiVa work?
ThermiVa delivers specialized radio frequency (RF) to feminine external (labia majora and minora) and internal (vaginal) areas. RF energy produces therapeutic warmth to shrink and tighten your treated soft tissue. Radio frequency is comfortably applied using a small, thin, gently curved wand that is massaged over desired areas.
How long does ThermiVa take?
A complete ThermiVa procedure takes approximately 30 minutes. For best results, several sessions are recommended. Three treatments over a period of 3 months consistently offers gratifying improvement for most women.
What can I expect during my ThermiVA consultation?
You’ll briefly enter your medical, gynecologic, obstetric, and sexual history on a standard uro-gynecological record. Along with external pelvic examination, this documents your pre-treatment starting point. Friendly female staff review the procedure in advance and answer your questions. Bring friends, family, significant others, and or anyone who may help you feel comfortable.
What to expect during the treatment?
ThermiVA was designed with your total comfort in mind. Most find it very relaxing. Our ThermiVa Coordinators have mastered GENTLE ThermiVA. Treatments are easy in our convenient, private, casual, professional setting. Most women leave our office excited about the results.
What can I expect after the treatment?
Externally treated skin may be slightly pink. Mild swelling for an hour or so after treatment is possible. There is no activity limitation whatsoever (no downtime)! Return to your regular routine immediately following ThermiVA treatment, including sex if you’d like.
How soon after giving birth can I start ThermiVa treatments?
You can start ThermiVa treatments as early as 6 weeks after giving birth.
What are the contraindications?
ThermiVA is not recommended if you are pregnant, if you have open labial or vaginal wounds, if you have cervical, ovarian, uterine, or vaginal cancer. Poor response to past radio-frequency vaginal treatments is also a relative contra-indication. Extreme vaginal laxity with pelvic floor weakness, prolapse, fistulization, and other conditions will not respond to ThermiVA, and are more appropriately treated surgically.
